Lake View City Council approves agreement with area farmer to provide three-phase power

LAKE VIEW, IOWA – DECEMBER 5, 2011

Dave Schultz, who has a farm located at 3235 Jackson Ave requested that the City of Lake View provide him with three phase power. According to city administrator Scott Peterson, this is the second time Schultz has been in to make this request.

The city routinely provides this service to requesting entities with the requirement that the customer make a deposit equaling the cost of installation which is then paid back at a rate of 50% of the power that the customer uses annually for 7 years, or until the deposit is paid back.

Prior to the November 5, 2011 council meeting, Schultz signed the following agreement:

Agreement

As you can see, it stipulates that the amount of the down payment will be $62,899.95, which is based on the engineer’s estimate. If the cost of the installation is less than the deposit amount, that will be refunded immediately.

The council approved resolution #5-15 entitled, "RESOLUTION APPROVING AGREEMENT WITH DAVE SCHULTZ REGARDING REFUNDABLE ADVANCE FOR CONSTRUCTION OF UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC SERVICE."
