City of Wall Lake to contact farmers about propane lines

October 10, 2011 – Wall Lake, Iowa

The propane hookup for three Rural Wall Lake customers is still on track. The city was unable to find additional contractors to submit bids, but of the contractors that did submit bids, it was determined that each farmer would have to buy a minimum of 14,700 therms of propane from the city, a figure that City Clerk Chris Rodman said the farmers “probably would not have a problem” with purchasing.

Councilor Boeckman was curious if the farmers could carry over use from year to year, but Rodman indicated that the city would have to work that out.

Rodman was instructed to speak with each farmer individually to see how they feel about the amount of gas they will be required to use, etc and to tentatively schedule the farmers for an appearance at a November meeting.
