Warren H. Evans
September 29, 1930 - September 29, 2011
Sac City, IA

Warren Howard “Grandpa” Evans, age 81, of Sac City, IA, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011, at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Farber and Otteman Funeral Home of Sac City is in charge of the arrangements.

Warren Howard Evans was born on September 29, 1930, to parents Arthur and Edna (Jensen) Evans in Yakima, WA.

Warren was inducted into the U.S. Army serving our country from 1951-1952. After being honorably discharged, he began working for Safeway in Kirkland, WA, as a night clerk for the next 42 years. Warren also worked for Skate King in Bellevue, WA for 37 years before moving to Iowa in July 2011 to be near his daughter.

Warren loved making up stories using himself as the character and telling jokes to make others around him laugh. He always loved to pull a good prank. His family remembers him always telling the same joke, “you have a hole in your sock,” said a co-worker from Skate King. He was one of the best because he always has a smile and loved to cheer people up. He was as quick with his smiles as he was with his humor. He will be greatly missed and wonderfully remembered.

Warren is survived by his children: Jeff Evans of WA and Vickie (Evans) Pelsor of Sac City, IA; five grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Edna Evans; brother: Arnie Evans; and sister: Geri (Evans) Ray.
