Driver in car accident narrowly misses striking gas pumps at Schaller Sparky's

The Sac County Sheriff's Office investigated an accident on Sunday October 2, 2011 at 2:00PM in Schaller, Iowa. The Sheriff’s Department says Natacha Butera age 18 of Sioux City, Iowa was traveling south on Berlin St. (HWY 110) in Schaller when she was distracted by a passenger in her car. According to investigators, this caused the 1998 Toyota Camry that Butera was driving to jump the curb to the parking lot of Sparky's Store, striking a parked 2005 Chevy owned by Pat Scott of Schaller, Iowa. Butera's vehicle narrowly missed striking the gas pumps.

The Scott vehicle received an estimated $4,000.00 in damage. The car Butera was operating is owned by Kathryn Converse of Madison, WI. This car received an estimated $1,500.00 in damage.
No injuries were reported.

Natacha Butera , who is a college exchange student from Africa was cited for not having a driver's license and not having proof of insurance.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
