Dave, Melissa, and Shirley spend the last meeting wearing the White and the Red

This is from the June 27, 2011 Joint Sac and Wall Lake View Auburn School board meeting. This was the last meeting before the two schools stopped existing and were replaced by East Sac County School.

Dave Sands makes a couple of motions which are seconded by either Melissa Bellcock or Shirley Phillips in an attempt to make policy for a school which they do not govern.

…entertaining, but a little sad.

They do get a win at 15:55 when they get a motion to lubricate some lights at some point in the future passed, though that motion had to be amended from the original motion to definitely lubricate the lights next year in order to pass. The “victory” is probably a little hollow considering that lubrication of the lights was scheduled prior to the motion.

After this vote, the meeting gets a little more fluid with Sands just spending 12ish minutes going through a list of things the people he seems to represent are uninformed about.

…More concerts at the middle School Auditorium?
Too late, all but one of them already held there.

…Woodworking class at the Middle School?
Already being looked at.

…Swimming at the Rec (sic) Center in Sac City?
Pool too small, discontinued by Sac School in the 80’s

…More high school dances held in Sac City?
You mean at the building that roughly half of the students attended in grade school instead of at the high school where they currently attend?

…and so on.
