Jeri Davenport Boger, 88, of Lake View, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Born June 21, 1922, in Cumberland, IA, she was raised near rural Early. She farmed with her husband Bill in Lake View and Ida Grove. Jeri was very adventurous, and took life by the horns; she would always lend a helping hand and opened her home and heart to all. Jeri enjoyed traveling, reading, puzzles, photography, playing cards and going to dances. Jeri loved cooking, gardening and the Lord. She had no regrets.

In 1982 she enrolled at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake where she played in the band and graduated in 1990. She sang in the County Chords and was a member of the Kiron Baptist Church, the Kil Kare Klub, and was a former member of Parents Without Partners. In the 80’s and 90’s she worked for the Lake View Resort, calling for news and writing human interest stories.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan Darrow of Bowling Green, OH; sons, Steve Davenport of Denison, IA, Donavon (Shirley) Davenport of Ida Grove, IA, and Jack (Lisa) Davenport of Barrington, IL; grandchildren: Anne (Ned) Clark, Paul Sauer, Thomas (Jenna ) Darrow, Nick (Kristin) Davenport, Greg and Travis Davenport, Sarah (David) Larson, and Grace, Anne and Rose Davenport; great-grandchildren: Kevin and Ryan Clark and Livia and Savanna Davenport; sisters Hallie Mason and Dorothy (Rich) Yanik; brother-in-law Guy Keuhn; and many loving nieces, nephews and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, William “Bill” Davenport and Harry Boger; a son, Arthur Davenport; her parents, Dewey and Gladys (nee Kenny) Weber, brother and sister-in-law John and Doris Weber, and sister and brother-in-law Vivian and Ray Jeckel, and brothers-in-law, Jack Woolrich and Lee Mason.
