Graff Wilhelm Williams, 89, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 27, 2011 with his family by his side.

Graff was born December 20, 1921, in Estherville, Iowa and moved to Sac City in 1931. He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis (Anderson) Williams; parents Leo and Margaret Williams; sister Elizabeth Kiel; and daughter Mary Elizabeth Williams.

Graff is survived by his brother Dean Williams of Crosslake, Minnesota; daughter Barbara and husband Marcial Palomo of Tinley Park, Illinois; son Craig and wife Sara of Indianapolis, Indiana; and daughter Janet and husband Steve Krohmer of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; eight grandchildren: Joy Palomo Clark (Rick Clark), Lynn Palomo, Gloria Palomo (Mike Fortuna), Mark Williams (Elizabeth), Amy Borlik (Greg), Brian Krohmer, Kristen Krohmer, and Anne Krohmer; five great-grandchildren: Caleb Clark, Colby Clark, Grace Williams, Anna Borlik and Mason Palomo.

He graduated from Sac City High School and received his BS degree in animal husbandry from Iowa State University in 1947. In 1949, Graff was united in marriage to Phyllis Anderson in Exira, Iowa. They enjoyed a marriage for over 60 years until Phyllis’s passing in 2010. Graff proudly served with the U.S. Army 12th General Hospital during World War II. He served from 1942-1945 in North Africa and Italy. After returning home from the service, Graff farmed for 11 years. In 1963, he began managing Williams Milling Company until his retirement in 1994. Graff was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder, on the building committee and other church comittees. He was active in Kiwanis Club, the Library Board and the Sac community. Graff enjoyed his many fishing trips and family vacations to northern Minnesota. He and Phyllis enjoyed many years of travel together. His interests included reading, traveling, music, fishing, golfing, and sports.
