SAC CITY, IOWA – FEBRUARY 15, 2011
Engineers Report to the Sac County Supervisors - February 15, 2011
1. County Crew Report.
- No details about what equipment is being repaired.
2. Gravel roads sloppy and hard to blade.
3. Thinking about using old boom for sign truck.
4. It is unclear if the DOT will be closing two consecutive roads while paving the bypass and moving N14.
5. There is very little prep work done between N14 and 4 in Calhoun County.
- entire chunk may be let at one time.
6. Early will have a very large Farmer’s Coop complex with 8 ½ million bushels of storage with hush hush talk about a possible feed mill.
- Truck scale at 71 and bypass may not stay open
7. One county got control of a road, (as the DOT vacated,) but didn’t get the money to go along with it for maintenance.
- Further speculation about things to watch out for as the DOT begins vacating roads in Sac County.
8. Supervisors swap stories about farming.
9. How are they going to do the exit near turkey farm?
10. Contractors anxious to fix bridge that was damaged in accident.
