Leona King of Marshalltown, Iowa and formerly of Schaller, Iowa died December 29, 2010 in Marshalltown.
Leona Thelma Breuklander was born June 20, 1925 in Pella, Iowa the daughter of John and Tryntje “Tunie” (Oostrum) Breuklander. She grew up in Knoxville, Iowa and attended grade school at West Ward in Knoxville and later graduated from Knoxville High School in 1942. Following high school graduation, Leona continued her education at the American Institute of Business. She worked as a secretary at the Travelers Insurance Co. in Des Moines, Iowa until 1960.

On November 13, 1960, Leona was united in marriage to Kenneth Harrison King at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

Leona was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Schaller, Iowa where she was an Elder, Deacon, Treasurer and PW Treasurer.

Leona enjoyed shopping, community clubs, being with friends and traveling. She treasured her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Kenneth King of Marshalltown, Iowa; sons: John (Kathy) Breuklander of Forest City, Iowa; Richard (Valerie) King of Marshalltown, Iowa; grandchildren: Shawn (fiancé, Jessica Jones) Breuklander of Estherville, Iowa; Stacey Breuklander of Forest City, Iowa; Anastasia, Bryce, Carissa, and Drew King all of Marshalltown, Iowa; brother, Lawrence (Aimee) Breuklander of St. Louis, Missouri; sister, Joan (Lloyd) Kinner of Las Vegas, Nevada; extended family and friends.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Marion Breuklander; and daughter, Sally King.

The family has requested the memorials be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Schaller, Iowa.
