Marjorie Ellen Johnson, age 82, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Loring Hospital in Sac City.
Marjorie was born on June 5, 1928 in rural Sac City to Roy and Alice (Pearson) Carnine. She attended the Sac Community Schools graduating with the class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Darrell Johnson on June 10, 1977. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was baptized in 1960 and a member of the ladies group.
Marjorie enjoyed playing bridge (especially with the Carnine girls), flying, and spending time with family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly and treasured spending time with them. Through the years she worked as a secretary for an insurance company, chamber of commerce, and Simplot Soilbuilders in Sac City, retiring in the 1970’s. She also did home health care in the Sac City area.
Survivors include her son Steven (Linda) Wilson of Carlisle, IA; daughter Susan (Steve Dingman) Wilson of Lisle, IL; grandchildren: Kris (Mark) Smith of Ankeny, Randy Groth of Des Moines, Angela (Eric) Mathieu of Indianola, and Joe Wilson of Clive; and six great-grandchildren: Brandon, Emily, Joey, Lauren, C.J., and Miles. Other survivors include her brothers: Alan Joe (Shirley) Carnine of Amery, WI, and Dale Carnine of Kansas City, MO; her sisters: Joy Webster of Early and Gwen (Roland) Gibbons of Sac City; many extended family members and friends.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Darrell; an infant brother, and brother Don Carnine.
