East Sac County Superintendent cautions board against over-reacting to unacceptable student achievement at middle school (Superintendent’s report)
SAC CITY, IOWA – AUGUST 16,2010

Larissa Rupnow was written up in an article by Farm News that said great thing about both her and the district’s Ag program.
Middle school going on the watch list for inadequate progress in the area of student achievement. In September, the school will have Julie Meyer come into the school and help them interpret the specific data that is causing the school to be on the watch list. Superintendent Fiene characterized this rating as a warning shot bringing to the attention of the boards that there are a couple of areas in which student achievement is unacceptable. Superintendent Fiene cautioned the board not to overreact.
Boards invited to pre-school open house.
Boards invited to give serious thought to attending Iowa School Board Association Convention.
Computer infrastructure is inadequate and the schools will be upgrading starting at the middle school. WLVA will be discussing upgrading in lake View in coming months.
Confusion regarding Tuition for begindergarten cleared up. It is exactly the same in both districts and both programs are equal. The term begindergarten will be phased out because it is actually called pre-school.
Dr. Fiene looking forward to participating in superintendent mentoring program. It is a seven week program
