On January 4, 2010 incumbent Jim Johnston and new-comer Nich Frohardt were sworn in to the office of Sac City Council in the City of Sac City with the following words:
I do solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of the United States and the constitution of the State of Iowa and that I will faithfully and impartially to the best of my abilities discharge all of the duties of the office of City Council in the City of Sac City, State of Iowa as now and hereafter required by law.
Mr. Johnston's and Mr. Frohardt’s terms will expire on the last business day of 2013. The next Sac City Council election will be held in 2011. Should they choose to run again, Mayor Barb Powell, and Councilmen Brian Muska, Bill Brenny, and Jim Frederick will have to defend their seats.
