Minutes of the November 8, 2011 Sac County Supervisors Meeting

The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jack Bensley, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to amend the agenda to hear a report from the EMA Director and to consider a transfer of funds to the Safety fund. Ayes all, motion carried.

It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.

The County Auditor reviewed a report submitted by Group Services, Inc. which showed a savings of $46,787.40 in premiums for the county’s group health care coverage.

It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to transfer a total of $46,787.40 from General Supplemental, Rural Basic, Secondary Roads and Mental Health to the County Health fund. Ayes all, motion carried.

The Board of Supervisors acknowledged the success of County Attorney Ben Smith in the murder conviction of Tracey Richter.

Dr. Jim Bullock, Sac County EMA Coordinator, discussed the issue of essential records preservation in case of an emergency such as flooding, tornado, etc. The County Auditor and the EMA Director will coordinate a department head meeting to continue this discussion.

The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews, the status of current maintenance and construction projects and construction on Highway 20 as it pertains to secondary roads.

With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
