Disagreement over control of TIF money flares up at Wall Lake City Council meeting
WALL LAKE, IOWA – JANUARY 24, 2011
The council made an arrangement with what is referred to as the “TIF Committee” to handle the TIF money for them so that what they don’t have to reveal to the public what they are doing with that money. Councilperson Ray Boeckmann, however, would like to be able to use some of that money to pay down the city’s debt and seems to bristle at the thought of having to ask the TIF Committee for permission to do so.
