Wall Lake City Council authorizes purchase of new grinder pump
WALL LAKE, IOWA – JANUARY 24, 2011
A grinder pump is a piece of equipment that liquefies solid sewage so that it can flow through the sewer pipes to the lagoon.
1. City is paying more for a sewage grinder pump to than they are charging.
- Not making enough to pay for the cost of replacement.
- They are “very” high maintenance.
2. Mark Determann asked to find someone to give them quotes for a new one or for a way to retrofit the existing system.
3. Council has a conversation comparing the load on grinder pumps from various businesses around town.
4. Council approves purchase of new grinder pump.
