ReplyDeleteThere are two levies on the ballot and neither of them are new, but rather renewals. Public Measure A has been in existance since 1967. It is based on taxable valuation ($50,000 = $10.13 annually. ICCC is dependent on this levy. It is basically their operating fund. Voters are being asked to extend this levy another 10 years. This not only helps upkeep buildings, but to improve equipment, library materials, postseconedary programs, etc.
ReplyDeletePublic Measure B is also a renewal. It was first approved by the voters in 2004. This helps pay the cost of program sharing between community colleges as well as the purchase of instructional equipment and keep up-to-date technology in the classrooms.
ICCC just like many of our community colleges provides many students, of all ages, an afffordable educational opportunity.
Our family has long been a supporter of ICCC. 3 of our sons have attended ICCC and we have all been well pleased with the education and opportunities they have gained as a result of ICCC.
I hope that you gain our family in voting YES on both these issues at the September 14th Special Election!
