Lake View City Council discuss the various FEMA electrical projects
LAKE VIEW, IOWA – JUNE 21, 2010
1. FEMA would participate in paying for the burying of aerial lines.
2. Right now the majority of the line that went down is the size of a pencil. The proposed replacement line is about the size of a grown man’s middle finger.
3. According to Scott Peterson, the city has an opportunity to make the system stronger than before the storm.
- These current lines were put in 1967.
- Will take $40,000ish per mile to replace the lines, and Lake View has about 40 miles of line, including the rural system.
4. “FEMA is going to show up next week with project worksheets.”
- This is a “primo” opportunity for the city to reinvest in the system.
