Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter on behalf of the Boone County Homeless Prevention Board and in recognition of a wonderful group of youth from Sac City, Iowa. The Crawford Hall Family Shelter recently had the privilege of a visit from the Sac City YOU (Youth Organization United) Group, who traveled to Boone Iowa on Saturday April 10th to help with the renovation work at the shelter.
This group of enthusiastic volunteers spent the day at Crawford Hall cleaning out a great deal of construction debris and also spent time learning about the issues of Rural Homelessness and what the Boone County Homeless Prevention Board is hoping to do.
It encourages us all to know that there are such young people out there taking action to learn about and address the issue of homelessness. This group is indeed a positive reflection on the community of Sac City, Iowa.
Sincerely,
Val Nehls, Board Member
Boone County Homeless Prevention Board
