Born February 5, 1932, in Logan, Iowa, Myrna Yvonne (Barkhoff) Youll was the daughter of Harold John and Edith Ailene (Dow) Barkhoff. She grew up near Logan and attended country school through the eighth grade, then lived with her grandparents in town while she attended high school in Logan. Myrna earned her teacher's certificate from the Iowa Teacher's College in Cedar Falls and taught school for several years, first in Peyton, Iowa, and later in Sac City.
On June 8, 1958, Myrna was united in marriage to George Allen Youll at the United Methodist Church in Sac City. Two children, Lisa and David, were born to this union.
Myrna was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Sac City. She and George enjoyed wintering in Arizona for the past nine years, and in earlier years, made many happy memories traveling on their motorcycles all over the United States and into Canada. Most of all, Myrna enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Lisa (John) Phillips of Sac City, and David (Patti) Youll of Lake View; four grandchildren, Angela (Mike) Nicodemus of Sioux City, Heather (Brian) Stehr of Salix, Chad Brotherson and fiancée Katie Painter of Columbus, OH, and Cameron Youll of Lake View; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Stehr, Noah Nicodemus, Marc Brotherson, and Sierra Nicodemus. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Eleanor (Herb) Murken of Canby, MN, and Thelma Youll of Sac City; a brother-in-law, Jim (Lorna) Youll of Sac City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband George on May 1, 2011; her parents; an infant brother, Eugene; and her parents-in-law, John V. and Wilkie Youll.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Myrna's name.
