At the July 11, 2011 Wall Lake City Council Meeting, the council seemed to agree that they would like to be more in control of how much money they spend on police protection during events. Right now the City of Wall Lake contracts with the City of Lake View for police protection, but special event coverage is not covered under the contract.
In the past, law enforcement determined how much protection there would be, but in the future, the Wall Lake City Council will address what they feel is over protection by making that determination themselves.
