The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jack Bensley, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to amend the agenda to discuss shingle options for two county-owned buildings. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried. Desiree’ Gremmel, consultant for Platinum Services Inc. submitted material for supplemental cancer, stroke and heart attack insurance available to county employees at their expense. No action was taken.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to adopt a resolution allowing the County Sheriff to charge a $50 cancellation fee for any Sheriff’s sale done by the Sac County Sheriff’s office for reimbursement for paperwork and research done prior to the cancelled sale. Ayes: Hecht, Stock and Bensley, nays none, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to proclaim May 6, 2011, as Child Care Provider Appreciation Day. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between Cerro Gordo County and Sac County to define the obligations of the two parties relating to the ongoing development, distribution, and use of the computer software known as Precinct Atlas and Absentee Atlas. Ayes all, motion carried. This MOU is valid from this date through June 30, 2013.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve the claims as listed on the claims register in the County Auditor’s office. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board and the Auditor discussed replacing the shingles on the original part of the Sac City Ambulance shed and the Sac City Senior Center. The Board directed the County Auditor to obtain bids for removal of the asphalt shingles on the original part of the Sac City Ambulance shed and replace them with either a 35 year asphalt shingle or a steel shingle and to obtain bids for the removal of the asphalt shingles on the Senior Center in Sac City and replace them with a 35 year asphalt shingle, a steel shingle or a recycle rubber shingle similar to the ones on the courthouse.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the status of current maintenance and construction projects. County Road N28 will be closed for 2-3 months and M50 will be closed for 3-4 months due to Highway 20 construction.
With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
