Born March 6, 1930, at home in Pierson, Iowa, George Allen Youll was the eighth of nine children born to J.V. and Wilkie Osborn Youll. He was baptized at the Methodist Church in Pierson, Iowa, where the family lived until George was six years old. The family lived in Cherokee, Des Moines, and Boone, Iowa, where George graduated with the Class of 1949. In November of 1949, he entered the United States Air Force. George served four years, mainly in Tripoli, until his honorable discharge in 1953. He then returned to the air base in Sioux City to be closer to his parents because of his father's health.

George came to Sac City to work for his brother, Rollo Youll at Youll Plumbing & Heating. After Rollo's death, George became the owner of the business and eventually was joined by brothers Ralph and Jim. Health reasons forced him to retire in 1987. He especially enjoyed working with sheet metal and constructed several copper time capsules for cornerstones in Sac City.

On June 8, 1958, George married Myrna Yvonne Barkhoff at the United Methodist Church in Sac City. The couple was blessed with two children, Lisa and David.

A member of the Scottish Rite in Sioux City and a 50-year member of the Occidental Lodge #178 AF & AM in Sac City, George enjoyed riding motorcycles with Myrna, traveling from the east to west coasts and south to north, including many Canadian provinces. He also enjoyed wood carving, reading western novels, and watching the History Channel. For the past nine years, George and Myrna made many happy memories spending their winters in Arizona and their summers in Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna; a daughter, Lisa (John) Phillips of Sac City; a son, David (Patti) Youll of Lake View; four grandchildren, Angela (Mike) Nicodemus of Sioux City, Heather (Brian) Stehr of Salix, Chad Brotherson and fiancée Katie Painter of Columbus, OH, and Cameron Youll of Lake View; and three great-grandchildren, Wyatt Stehr, Noah Nicodemus, and Marc Brotherson. He is also survived by a sister, Eleanor (Herb) Murken of Canby, MN; a brother, Jim (Lorna) Youll of Sac City; a sister-in-law, Thelma Youll of Sac City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John V. and Wilkie Youll; his siblings, Thelma and Charlie Wahl, Rollo and Harriett Youll, a sister in infancy, Ralph Youll, Ruth and DeWayne Pohl, Gladys and Lyle Sparks; his parents-in-law, Harold and Edith Barkhoff; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Eugene Barkhoff.
