Barb Powell, (or Bloes, depending on in which building she happens to be standing,) is sort of a walking breathing example of a secretive government in action.
She constantly pays lip service to the fact that she wishes more people would show up and participate in government, yet conducts public meetings where in some cases the city clerk has to use more words to write out the minutes than were exchanged during the so called deliberations over which she pathetically resides.
Mayor Barb Bloes, (or Powell if she would like you to buy a little State Farm insurance from her,) when not continuing the long standing Sac City mayor tradition of hiding the actions of the Sac City government behind functionally anonymous and secretive committees who meet in the middle of the day without public announcement and with zero public accountability, spends the balance of her public life trying to do things like save the community center, (20ish fewer members than before she vowed to save it,) or attending meetings in the place of city council people who (what... don't want to? Don't feel like they have to? Are tired of being on the council?)
If Barb (whatever) wants the people to remember her as anything other than a weak, secretive old lady who became the mayor simply because she had the good fortune to run against a guy who ran just to mess with the city administrator's head, she should read the post at the following link...
Twice.
