Sac County Supervisors review 2010 Sac County Fair stats

...consider 3% funding request increase for the coming year

SAC CITY, IOWA – JANUARY 11, 2011

1. Aside from the above report, it was reported that they are starting to get ahead of the flooding problem by reworking the racetrack.
2. Almost 60 kids participated in beef weigh in at the Iowa State extension office recently.
- 4-H and the Iowa State Extension have a relationship that is unusually good compared to other counties.
3. The drainage system has had a major portion between the park and the river cleaned out.
- They built a pit with a gate to keep water from backing up into the fairgrounds, and the city has given them permission to pump from that pit into the park if needed.
4. Tractor pull and figure 8 races were cancelled due to rain.
5. The fair has never asked for a funding increase in the entire time that the county auditor has been on the fair board.
6. Sac County Fair named “Best New Rodeo”
7. They have put in additional handicap parking.
