Partners for Progress
The Partners for Progress got a volunteer to come in and help fill out income tax returns for low income people. As of February 22, 2010 there were 24 people who have reportedly taken advantage of the program. According to Councilperson Jim Frederick, there are more people scheduled.
Park board
They are talking about the city’s flower gardens and have bids out. They also have want ads out for a park custodian.
Trees Forever
They have planted 16 crab apple trees down in Oakland Cemetery. They are in the process of ordering and replanting news trees for a batch that did not make it through last summer.
Fire Board
The 28E between the city and the townships was not completely signed and official for a number of years due to a financial dispute with Wall Lake Township. The 28E is finally going forward officially with Wall Lake Township signing on and paying a token $80 of the amount that the other members say that they owed. According to Councilperson bill Brenny, the fire board is functionally better at this point.
