5. Kenny Hoefling of Gasrite pitches Gasrite’s service to the supervisors.
- They are middlemen that set up agreements between gas suppliers and governmental agencies to establish stable prices during times of fluctuation.
- They specifically want to work with the Sac County Sheriff’s Department.
-- Sheriff has received favorable references from other law enforcement entities and appreciates the chance to simplify the bookkeeping process by paying just one bill instead of multiple bills as is now the case. The supervisors took no action on this matter, but instructed Mr. Hoefling to send references.

In the following video, the supervisors further discuss Mr. Hoefling’s proposal. They come to the tentative conclusion that they could get a better deal by going to the local gas station.

In the following video, the Sac County Sheriff reports that he received a conflicting report that would seem to suggest that the Gasrite deal could actually be a better deal, and that he has received good reports from departments in nearby jurisdictions.

Also in this video is a conversation about the non-speculative nature of the county’s fuel purchasing habits, which is markedly different than the habits of farmers and trucking companies.

The Sheriff talks about the convenience of using the Gasrite system compared to how they get fuel currently. The supervisors agreed that the system is worth investigating.
