Jean Stoelting, age 82, of Sac City, Iowa, died Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Park View Care Center in Sac City, Iowa.

Born October 16, 1927, on a farm north of Pocahontas, Iowa, Jean Elaine Stoelting was the oldest of six children born to C. Earl and Bernice Eldora (Peterson) Hunter. She grew up on a farm north of Fonda, Iowa, and attended Dover #6 country school until the eighth grade. She graduated from Pocahontas High School where she participated in track and vocal music.

Jean was employed with Hakes in Fonda and later worked at Wigwam Bakery in Sac City. On March 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Stoelting of Sac City. The couple was blessed with four children, Elaine, Wayne, Jayne, and Blaine.

Jean was a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City. She will be remembered by her many friends and family for her thoughtfulness in sending cards and letters for all occasions.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; four children, Elaine (Gary) Weinhold of Claremore, OK, Wayne (Lana) Stoelting of West Fargo, ND, Jayne Stoelting Hunter of Caceras, Spain, and Blaine Stoelting of Sac City; a granddaughter, Sara; a brother, Lyle (Jean) Hunter of Owasso, OK; two sisters, Carol (David) Dunning of Tulsa, OK, and Alice Ricklefs of Pocahontas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles and Lowell Hunter.
