Minutes of the March 29, 2011 Sac County Supervisors meeting

The Sac County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with all members present, Jack Bensley, Chairman, presiding. The minutes of the last meeting were approved as submitted.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to amend the agenda to consider quarterly transfers to Secondary Road Fund. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to approve the agenda as amended. Ayes all, motion carried.
Donita Hicks and Phyllis Richardson were present to update the Board on activities and plans for the Sac City Senior Center. They were planning on a fund-raiser and had secured some donations to upgrade the cupboards, ceiling and paint in the kitchen. The Board informed the ladies that they were planning to have the building re-shingled in the summer of 2011 and that was all that had been budgeted for that particular facility.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve the quarterly transfers of $259,417.00 from Rural Basic Fund to Secondary Roads Fund and $24,061.75 from General Basic Fund to Secondary Roads Fund. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Stock and seconded by Hecht to direct the Chairman to sign a proclamation observing the week of April 4 through 10 as Public Health Week. Ayes all, motion carried.
It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve a proposed tile repair in DD 62, located in Section 20, Delaware Twp for an estimated cost of $700.00. Ayes all, motion carried.
The Board reviewed information regarding a proposed change in wetland mitigation being considered by the NRCS and information opposing the changes suggested by Farm Bureau and local drainage authorities. It was moved by Hecht and seconded by Stock to approve and submit the suggested response in protest to the recent actions and position taken by the USDA and NRCS to Senators Charles Grassley and Tom Harkin and Representatives Tom Latham and Steve King. Ayes all, motion carried.
The County Engineer updated the Board on activities of the county road crews and the current status of maintenance and construction projects. The Board and the Engineer reviewed the bridge replacement information compiled in April, 2009. With there being no further business, on motion, the meeting was adjourned.
