Last year's tax rate was $20.81 per thousand. The proposed tax rate for the 2010-2011 budget is $17.16 per thousand.
This information was presented during a truncated budget presentation at the January 25, 2010 Sac City Council meeting. A detailed budget report will be available later this week.
The following is the 81-767 showing, (among other things,) the new proposed tax rate. Because of the detail, my friends with dial-up will have to exercise a little patience with this particular document. (5 minute estimated download)
I am preparing a detailed budget report for publication on Sunday February 7, 2010.

So the sewer tax is next year?
ReplyDeleteI Can't speak with authority on that till tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAccording to City Administrator Adam Ledford, there is no plan for a property tax or special assessment associated with the sewer projects. The bond/loans the City received were part of what is called revenue bonds. They are typically paid back with user fees for the particular service.
ReplyDeleteHe went on to say that they are evaluating the fee situation that that "no change would be expected" for the next 12 to 24 months.
The current user fees coupled with the CDGB and ARRA grants totaling $2.9 million will fall "just short" of covering the full cost of the project.
