Lake View City Council agrees to match donations for library building foundation
LAKE VIEW, IOWA – JULY 6, 2010
Karen VanMeveren and Lake View Library Board member Dave Peterson appeared before the city council to request a donation of to help pay for the following list of expenses related to the building foundation rehab project.
What the library proposes is to ask the residents of Lake View for donations and then ask the city to provide matching funds. The friends of the library sent the following letter of support:
QUESTIONS:
Would the removal of items from inside the library be with volunteer labor?
- If they can get it, some people have volunteered already.
Where would the items be stored?
- In semi trailers and Methodist church.
Will the $70,000 completely take care of the foundation problem?

Council approves a match of private fundraising match of up to $10,000.
Council approves application for grant with budget as submitted.
