Sac County Supervisors starting to get a handle on true cost of Obamacare
SAC CITY, IOWA - APRIL 5, 2011
1. Call to order.
2. Review of coming Obamacare issues.
-Did you find a cheap way out for us?
-- Perhaps magic.
- Ways of keeping the per employee cost down so there will be no added cost to the employees using a safety fund.
-- With the current Wellmark plan, the county will have to add a 16% increase to keep this at no cost to the employees. (added cost to taxpayers.)
-- An alternative Wellmark plan may allow them to buy a $3K instead of a $2K deductable.
--- The co-pay would go down from 80% to 70%.
--- The co-pay for the employee would go up from $25 to $30.
- The coverage will not change.
- Supervisors are expected to discuss this and possibly make a decision at the April 12, 2011 meeting.
