LAKE VIEW, IOWA – SEPTEMBER 20, 2010
Following is the city administrator’s instructions to the council:
The Lake View City Council approved the following bill to be paid to Howrey Construction for their work on the bike trail at Ice House point.
80% of this bill will come back to the city after the contractor cashes the check
UPDATE:
1. All of the concrete work is done.
2. All of the shouldering work is done.
3. The seeding needs to be completed.
4. The signage needs to be put into place. (was scheduled to come put up signs on September 22, 2010.)
- There is some concern that people will mistake the trail for a road if there is no signage up.
5. There is also a plan to look into erecting concrete columns to help discourage motor traffic after the project is completely closed out.
- There may be grants available for this.
6. One potential problem is where the trail has to come down to meet the height of the road. As you can see in the following photos, at that meeting place, water will still be able to get up onto the trail.
- The engineer is being consulted about how to fix this problem.
