James Greenlee, age 22, of Carroll, Iowa, and formerly of Sac City, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010, as the result of an accidental drowning in Sac City.
A Time of Remembrance for James will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Sac City, Iowa, with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery, Sac City. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-8 p.m.
James began working at the Villager Restaurant in Sac City at the age of 14. In 2009, he made his home in Carroll where he worked for a time at Casey's and, most recently, was employed at the A & W Restaurant.
James enjoyed music, tie dying, playing hackysack, and hanging out with his friends. He especially loved playing his guitar and skateboarding.
Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Mary Greenlee of Sac City; his special friend, Kate Cruse of Carroll; four brothers, Paul (Tina Saunders) Rowland of St. Joseph, MO, Jeremiah (Casey) Snodgrass of Mannford, OK, Jesse (Emily) Greenlee of Sac City, and Zach Greenlee of Canton, IL; a sister, Sarah (Brian) Keck of Canton, IL; five nieces and five nephews; his paternal grandmother, Viola (Ken) Smith of Melcher-Dallas; paternal step-grandmother, Sharon Greenlee of Ft. Collins, CO; his maternal great-grandfather, John Holincheck of Sioux City; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sonya and Finis Rowland; his paternal grandfather, Richard "Dick" Greenlee; and maternal great-grandmother, Charlotte Holincheck.
