Wall Lake City Council met in special session at 12:30 p.m. in council chambers, presided by Mayor Steve Druivenga.
Councilmen present: Francis Riedell, Rob Germann, Daryl Potthoff, and Ray Boeckman. Absent: John Morrow.
Riedell moved to approve the printed agenda, seconded by Potthoff. Ayes: All, motion carried.
Discussion was held concerning the Pool Bath House bids. The City received only one bid and council discussed the soliciting of more bids. Germann suggested Jamie put the time and effort into turning in a bid when no one else did. Mayor Druivenga suggested if the bid was not accepted and more were solicited, JDS Construction could feel cheated and want to resubmit. It was also discussed that the bid is much higher than the original budget from the committee. The reason for the overage is because a cement slab and sidewalk were added and the block walls will be reinforced to ensure durability. Germann moved to approve JDS Construction’s bid of $95,392, seconded by Riedell. Ayes: All, motion carried.
Also discussed at this time was the pool boiler and how to pay for the extra cost of the building. The boiler is ordered and will be in as soon as it gets here. Germann suggested we have a Pool House Fund Raiser at some point before the fall season. No action was taken on the pool boiler or the fund raiser for the pool house.
Potthoff moved to adjourn, seconded by Riedell. Ayes: All, motion carried.
Steve Druivenga, Mayor
