A Celebration of Life Service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at the Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Odebolt, Iowa. The Reverend Glenn Hansen will officiate, with burial at a later date. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Born March 15, 1930, in Denison, Iowa, Raymond Martin Busskohl was the son of Fred and Anna Busskohl. He grew up and attended school in the Denison area, then served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany as a tank driver.
Raymond returned to Iowa, and worked for the railroad for a brief time, then was employed by several farmers in the Kiron and Odebolt areas. He moved into Odebolt in the mid-'70's, and later was employed at GOMACO in Ida Grove.
Raymond attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt. He enjoyed gardening and animals.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Winebrenner of Tennessee, and Debbie Ogren of Sac City; three grandchildren, Dustin (Jessica) Ogren of Des Moines, Maisie Ogren of Sac City, and Shawn Jackson of Chicago, IL; two great-grandchildren, Ashton and Natalie; as well as other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Fred and Leo Busskohl; and a sister, Frances Freese.
