Milo Kies, age 54, of Wall Lake, IA, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010.
Milo Dean Kies was born on December 28, 1955, in Sac City, IA, to parents Raymond and Maxine (Buse) Kies. He grew up on the family farm south of Wall Lake attending Wall Lake Elementary School and graduating from Wall Lake High School with the class of 1974. He went on to further his education at Ryder Technical Institute.
Milo was a father to six wonderful children Matthew, Mitch, Marshall, Rachel, Brooke, and Bailey. Milo was married to Shari Villeneuve March 9, 1984 at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, IA. They were later divorced.
Milo spent his life farming in the Wall Lake area and also did some trucking with Koster Grain and Feed. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, horses, riding motorcycles to South Dakota, farming, and vacationing. In 1989, he won the Iowa Masters Soybean contest for Carroll County. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children: Matthew (Eileen) Kies of Dallas, TX, Mitch (Rebecca) Kies of Dallas, TX, Marshall (Ashley) Kies of Dallas, TX, Rachel Kies of Boone, IA, Brooke (Eric) Blessington of Winterset, IA, and Bailie Kies of Ida Grove, IA; grandchildren: Grayson, Olivia, and Victoria; parents: Raymond and Maxine Kies; brothers: Keith (Melodee) Kies of Lake View, and Bruce (Vickie) Kies of Blair, NE; sisters: Connie (Jim) Fickel of Eugene, OR, and Marilyn (Rick) Swircienski of Omaha, NE; and many extended family members and friends. Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Frank and Clara Kies; maternal grandparents Herman and Martha Buse; brother Stanley Kies; nieces Tiffany Kies and Faith Fickel; and great-nephew Maxwell Kies.
