Passed Away - Ruth Greening *
Ruth Greening, age 92, of Odebolt, Iowa, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa.
The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the Christensen-Huffman Funeral Home in Odebolt. Burial will take place in the family plot near Tracy, Iowa, at a later date.
Born March 31, 1918, near Neodesha, Kansas, Ruth Darlene Greening was the daughter of William and Marjorie Miller. She grew up and received her education in Kansas and Oklahoma.
Ruth was married to George Sanders and was blessed with three children, Don, George, and Paula. She was later married to Gordon Greening.
Ruth lived in various places over the years, including New York, Des Moines, New Sharon, and, most recently, Oskaloosa. While in New York and Des Moines, Ruth managed several apartment complexes. In January, 2010, she made her home at the Odebolt Nursing & Rehab Center in Odebolt.
Survivors include her three children, Don Sanders of Barstow, CA, George Sanders of Odebolt, and Paula Sanders of Superior, AZ; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Zella Faye Larison of New Sharon, and Theda Russell of Milwaukee, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gordon Greening; three brothers; and one sister.
