Clark Ralph Weary was born January 10, 1914, at home in Sac City, Iowa, the youngest son of William Floyd and Mabel (VanDeGrift) Weary. He attended Sac City High School, where he graduated and excelled in wrestling and football.
On April 10, 1935, he was united in marriage to Henriona "Ona" Sherwood at Sac City. They were blessed with two children, Jacqueline and James. Clark was drafted into the United States Army during World War II. He served in Italy with the 10th Mountain Division and was honorably discharged in 1945.
Clark worked at various jobs until purchasing with a partner an empty building in Danbury in 1946, and opening a drugstore. They owned and operated the drugstore until 1959, when Clark and Ona moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas. After 35 years in Arkansas, they returned to Iowa and remained in their own apartment until making their home at Morningside Rehab and Care Center in 2009 and 2010.
