Sad, in the 60's there would be kids and kid wannabees covering the entire western-half of the golf course. Kites would be as far out as the old elementary school with good winds. I can still picture perennial entrant and always a serious contender, the late Ted Leonard, grinning ear-to-ear with his hair wanged out on the side of his head.
85 years.. hope someone can pump new life into this unique event.
