Most important conversation of the year, now public

…Sac City Council decides to work on the budget in public instead of behind closed doors.

SAC CITY, IOWA – OCTOBER 11, 2010

This is a highly unusual move on the part of the Sac City Council. Working out a budget has historically been a very secretive process with all participants acting in a highly defensive manner whenever confronted about how they arrived at specific decisions. Is this further evidence that Mayor Powell is trying to turn over a leaf and bring more transparency to local government?

This is certainly a step in the right direction, but one single meeting does not make a trend… we will see.
