The two lived several years in the New Orleans metro area before moving to Urbandale, Iowa. The couple had no children but enjoyed filling their home with their canine children and the laughter of many nieces and nephews.

George Lightfoot of Slidell, Louisiana; two brothers: Larry Lightfoot and wife Caryle and Rick Lightfoot and wife Joanne both of Slidell, Louisiana; sister-in-law Nancy (Determann) Janssen and husband Ted of Auburn, Iowa; brothers-in-law Jim Determann and wife Jenni of Polk City, Iowa and Bruce Determann and wife Stacy of Glidden Iowa; six nieces; eleven nephews; and three great nephews.

Preceding Roger in death were his grandparents Richard and Dominica Sighinolfi and Sam and Mabel Lightfoot; mother Roberta Lightfoot; and a very special aunt, Fulvia (Sighinolfi ) Rose.
