Odebolt City Council discusses nuisance properties
ODEBOLT, IOWA – JULY 6, 2010
Because of the sheer number of area city councils who decided to meet on July 6 due to the holiday, the Odebolt City Council got the short end of the stick equipment wise. I apologize for the extremely low quality of the video.
1. Property to be condemned.
2. Action being taken on previously discussed property
- Mess in back doesn’t warrant a letter at this time.
3. “Ron and Jenny’s” has a blazing fire.
- One time he was burning a couch.
-- Might have toxins and isn’t allowed under open burning.

4. Council picks up nuisance discussion about 45 minutes later after the discussion about the sewage lagoon.
5. The council decides to get the ball rolling in knocking down the property in question.
6. Wayne Peterson property discussed.
- Building may have been purchased.
-- Interested property may have talked to a contractor about putting a new roof on it.
- Council decides to move forward with an order of condemnation anyway.
7. Private tree that is encroaching.
