LAKE VIEW, IOWA – JUNE 21, 2010
1. The city will not borrow money to give to Camp VanMeveren, Camp VanMeveren will either borrow money or they do not want to be annexed.
2. Raised taxes.
- The city’s portion would be $750.00 per year for 10 years.
3. Waiving the hook-up fee is proposed in the agreement.
- If the Camp isn’t annexed, then there is no way to enforce a hook-up fee.
- Laney suggests that this could lead to other people wanting to hook up and not paying the fee.
4. What is the city doing fooling around on the east side of the lake?
- This city lives and dies by that lake.
- How many groceries have they bought at the grocery store?
5. Mayor needs to ask citizens to quit talking so that the city council meeting can continue.
6. Council briefly considers an interest rate based on the prime.
- Council seems to come to a consensus that a fixed rate would be more favorable to their situation.
- Will allow them to be able to count on a certain amount of return.
