On December 14, 2009 the Sac City Council came to order with the following councilmen present: Jim Johnston, Bill Brenny, Jim Frederick, and Gary Hansen. Also in attendance was soon to be Councilman Nick Frohardt, Mayor Barb Bloes, City Administrator Adam Ledford, Sac City Chief of Police John Thomsen, City Clerk, Sandy Tellinghuisen, 1 city employee, three representatives of Kid's World, Todd Luckow, and two media
Councilman Brian Muska was Absent.
The City council approved the minutes of the November 23, 2009 city council meeting, the evening's agenda, and 1 1/2 pages of claims without comment.
Before the meeting, Mayor Barb Bloes conducted a Q&A about items from the evening's agenda. She did not then discuss these items during the meeting.
There were no citizens that took advantage of the "Citizen's opportunity to address the council on items not on the agenda."
There were no citizens that took advantage of the agenda item, "Public input on solid waste."
Sac City will host the Northwest Iowa League of Cities meeting on January 21, 2010. The City has been encouraged by the League to contact the State Auditor to come and speak about the financial status of the State. Dinner is at 6:00PM, the meeting starts at 7:00PM.
Sac City did not turn in the winning bid for Lytton School's old playground equipment. According to Mr. Ledford, the equipment sold for about $90.00 more to the City of Odebolt. Had Sac City won the bid, the parks department would have installed the equipment in City Park. According to Mr. Ledford, the Equipment sold for about $5,100.00.
