On the morning of April 19, 2011 in the District Court of Iowa for Sac County, Buster Wirtjers was found guilty of four counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, (Class D Felonies,) and sentenced to up to five years in prison for each of those findings of guilt. Judge Thomas Bice ordered those sentences served concurrently with credit for time served. Wirtjers was ordered to provide a sample of DNA and is to be placed on the sex offender registry. Victim restitution is to be ordered at a later date. Wirtjers was given 30 days to appeal this order.
